TAYLORCRAFT LOCKED OUT

AOPA repeorted the following story on their web page August 2.

Brownsville city officials chained entrances in a fence around the Taylorcraft Aviation company in late January after discovering there were insufficient funds to cover a $15,000 check paid to the city against more than $100,000 in back rent, according to a report in The Brownsville Herald. The firm is a tenant of the Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport. The city had in recent months threatened eviction, but gave the firm more time to pay the rent. Attempts to reach company officials were unsuccessful. Taylorcraft had hoped to market a light sport aircraft and a fully certified model.
